Our Islamic Center provides following services:
Weekend Islamic School
UMAH Weekend Islamic School’s mission is to educate and train community children to develop good Islamic character to become good and responsible members of society. The school started in August 2016 with a few students. There are presently 30 students learning at different levels. There are three staff and three aids in the school. Since October 2018, parents pay $40 per month. Parents do not pay when they are out of work. Two staff and one aid are given monthly stipends based on their needs. The fees is also used to provide lunch and prizes for the students.
Giving Friday
GivingFriday is a voluntary financial donation scheme that aims to expand the donation base of UMAH. This idea, which was suggested by a member during a general meeting in 2018, calls upon every Jamaat member to donate the maximum amount possible, every Friday, towards the UMAH Masjid project. There are 32 members participating in this program now. The highest weekly donation currently is $50.00 and the lowest is $10.00. UMAH Board of Directors is appealing to every member of our community to not only be generous in participating in this program but to also strive to recruit other Muslims. By committing time and money in this noble course, Allah will reward you in shaa Allah with Al-Jannah. Action: Sign up for the GivingFriday donation today (see the methods of payment). Women's Halaqah
Women’s Halaqah takes place every other week on Sundays and is open to any woman who is interested to learn about Islam
Community Halaqah
Community Halaqah is a collaborative effort between UMAH and Masjid Al Anbiyaa. This Halaqah is for the public and takes place once each month on the last Sunday.
Quran Study Group
The Quran Study Group aims to study the Holy Quran as a teamwork for easy understanding. The group is open to the public and meets once every Sunday at the UMAH center, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
Quran Tilawah Class
The Quran Tilawah class is a collaborative effort between UMAH and Masjid Al Anbiyaa. This class aims to help adults in our community learn to recite the Holy Quran correctly. The class meets once every Saturday after Fajr at Masjid Al-Anbiyaa. There are only brothers attending this class now.
